I respect that you would want to know who I am. It shows that you are looking for someone you can connect with and who may be able to partner with you for your counseling needs.

I am a 51 year old professional. I have worn several hats through the years. I like to think that I continue to evolve personally and professionally as my careers have flowed one into the other.

I started as an attorney specializing in divorce and custody matters. I found though, during my years in practice, that when my clients came in for our meetings, to sign papers, or to meet for Court that I was more drawn to finding out how they were doing and how their children were handling things, than I was to actually appearing in court. Many days ended with a client and a cup of tea in my office talking about their feelings after the legal matters were addressed.

It was after practicing law for six years that I decided to become a clinical social worker.

In 1993 I graduated from Temple University with a Masters Degree in Social Work. Of all my credentials I am most proud of this one. Becoming a social worker was like coming home. I began working as an in-home therapist with at-risk children and their families. I did this work at Jewish Family Service in Margate, NJ for five years. Then I became the Director of Children’s Services overseeing several children’s programs. By the time I left Jewish Family Service in 2003, I was also the Director of Outpatient Services, supervising the Outpatient therapists and was the lead outpatient therapist in the Outpatient Department.

In 2003 I opened my own private practice. I see adults, couples, children, and families for outpatient counseling. I also practice forensic social work, utilizing both my Masters Degree in Education and my Law background. I am a Consultant to attorneys on a variety of legal matters including children’s rights in education, Civil Rights actions, Due Process matters, Custody issues, and child welfare cases. It is exciting work, and makes good use of all of my training.
